Media day

Ein weiterer Tag ist vergangen. Vor allem war es ein anstrengender Tag. Heute Morgen hatten wir bereits um 8 Uhr eine Fitnesseinheit. Danach verbrachten wir etwa 2 Stunden auf dem Fußballplatz und trainierten intensiv. Anschließend gab es Essen und so weiter. Es war zwar nichts Spektakuläres, aber definitiv sehr anstrengend. Der Campus füllt sich immer mehr. Es gibt neue, verschiedene und vor allem viele Gesichter.

Generell finde ich das wirklich gut, allerdings sind nicht nur die Wohnheime, Bäder und der Campus voll, sondern auch die Cafeteria. Sie ist wirklich sehr überfüllt. Aber so soll es wohl auch sein.

Bis jetzt hatte ich Glück. Mein Zimmernachbar ist immer noch nicht aufgetaucht. Ich würde lügen, wenn ich nicht ein wenig Hoffnung hätte, dass er vielleicht doch nicht mehr auftauchen wird. Drückt mir bitte die Daumen.

Gestern hatten wir den Media Day. Das bedeutete, dass wir viele Fotos gemacht haben. Ein paar Porträts, Jubel- und auch lustige Bilder wurden aufgenommen. Die Ergebnisse habe ich bisher noch nicht gesehen.

Unabhängig von diesem Tag wollte ich euch erzählen, dass man hier überall Rentiere und Hirsche zu Gesicht bekommt. Sogar nah an der Straße oder in der Nähe von Häusern. Ich finde das sehr beeindruckend. Zwar habe ich schon des Öfteren Hirsche etc. gesehen, dennoch ist es etwas anderes, wenn sie keine 10 Meter von dir entfernt sind und dich interessiert anblicken. Natürlich habe ich ein Foto gemacht, als ich einen Hirsch gesehen habe.

Heute habe ich wie an den vergangenen Tagen starke Kopfschmerzen. Heute liegt es aber definitiv am Wetter. Es ist sehr schwül, die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist hoch und es regnet ein wenig. Das ist besonders eklig für meinen Kopf.

Die nächsten beiden Tage werde ich vermutlich weniger schreiben können. Morgen fahren wir nach Penn State. Dort gehen wir ins Hotel und werden noch einmal vor Ort trainieren. Am Sonntag ist es dann soweit. Das erste Saisonspiel steht an. Und das ausgerechnet gegen Penn State. Das sind sozusagen die Bayern München unserer Liga. Viel Geld, viele Zuschauer und ein hervorragender Rasen. Und natürlich auch starke Gegner. Ich freue mich schon auf das Spiel. Da wir nach dem Spiel wieder zurückfahren, weiß ich nicht, ob ich danach noch einmal schreiben kann. Am Montag beginnt dann auch das Studium. Ich denke, es wird interessant, allerdings bin ich auch ein wenig skeptisch. Mal schauen. Ich werde euch auf jeden Fall berichten, allerdings wahrscheinlich nicht in den nächsten 2 Tagen. Zumindest nicht so ausführlich.

Übrigens findet das Spiel nach eurer Zeit um 22 Uhr abends statt, am Sonntag. Wer das Spiel verfolgen möchte, kann das gerne tun. Den Link werde ich euch noch einmal schicken.

Media day

Another day has passed. Above all, it was an exhausting day. This morning we had a fitness session already at 8am. After that we spent about 2 hours on the soccer field and trained intensively. Afterwards we had food and so on. It was nothing spectacular, but definitely very exhausting. The campus is filling up more and more. There are new, different and especially many faces.

In general, I think that's really good, however, not only are the dorms, bathrooms, and campus full, but the cafeteria is as well. It's really very crowded. But that's the way it's supposed to be.

So far, I've been lucky. My roommate still hasn't shown up. I'd be lying if I didn't have a little hope that maybe he won't show up after all. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please.

Yesterday we had media day. That meant we took a lot of photos. A few portraits, cheers and also funny pictures were taken. I haven't seen the results yet.

Regardless of this day, I wanted to tell you that you can see reindeer and deer everywhere here. Even close to the road or near houses. I find that very impressive. Although I have seen deer etc. many times, it is something else when they are not 10 meters away from you and look at you with interest. Of course I took a picture when I saw a deer.

Today, like the past few days, I have a bad headache. But today it is definitely due to the weather. It's very humid, the humidity is high and it's raining a bit. This is especially nasty for my head.

I'll probably be able to write less the next two days. Tomorrow we are going to Penn State. There we will go to the hotel and do some more on-site training. Sunday is the day. The first game of the season is coming up. And it will be against Penn State. They are the Bayern Munich of our league, so to speak. A lot of money, a lot of spectators and an excellent turf. And of course strong opponents. I'm already looking forward to the game. Since we're going back after the game, I don't know if I'll be able to write again after that. On Monday, my studies will also start. I think it will be interesting, though I'm also a little skeptical. Let's see. I will definitely report to you, but probably not in the next 2 days. At least not in such detail.
