Amerikanische Hygiene

Was soll ich sagen? Seit ich hier in Amerika bin, sind mir vor allem bei den Menschen, die hier leben, viele Dinge aufgefallen.

Neben dem nicht vorhandenen Klimawandel, der falschen Selbsteinschätzung oder dem schlechten Essen, gibt es eine Sache, die ich euch erzählen wollte. Und das ist die Hygiene.

Ich lebe jetzt seit einigen Monaten in Amerika und jeden Tag überrascht es mich aufs Neue. Die Hygiene in Amerika ist wirklich unglaublich schlecht.

Wie kann ich das am besten beschreiben?

Ich weiß nicht, ob wir in Deutschland einfach anders oder besonders hygienisch sind, aber ich finde mein Verhalten, was hier als besonders hygienisch bezeichnet wird, normal.

Angefangen beim normalen Gang zur Toilette. Ich kann jetzt nur von den Jungs sprechen, aber die meisten Amerikaner halten es nicht für nötig, nach dem Toilettengang zu spülen. Dabei ist es egal, was hinterlassen wurde... Mehr will ich dazu nicht sagen.

Ich frage mich nur warum? Ist es ihnen wirklich so egal? Auf jeden Fall kann ich sagen, dass es nicht am bewussten Umgang mit der Umwelt liegt.

Was macht man dann nach dem Toilettengang ohne zu spülen? Natürlich wird das Waschbecken umgangen und nicht benutzt. Auch hier bezweifle ich den bewussten Umgang mit der Natur, um Seife und Wasser zu sparen.

Es wird also nicht gespült und die Hände werden auch nicht gewaschen.

Ein Beispiel noch, den Rest möchte ich euch ersparen. Nicht das mein Blog noch gesperrt wird :).

Duschen ohne Badelatschen oder Flipflops? Kein Problem für mich, wenn ich zu Hause die Dusche mit meiner Familie teile. Aber in öffentlichen Duschen, die von super vielen Leuten benutzt werden? Ein Alptraum für mich. Ich glaube, ich würde lieber mit Schuhen duschen, als freiwillig barfuß dort herumzulaufen.

Das ekelt mich an.

Bin ich so empfindlich oder seht ihr das auch so? Ich bin immer wieder fassungslos über das Verhalten vieler Amerikaner. Ich bin zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass es an der Erziehung liegen muss, oder? Mir fällt kein anderer Grund ein. Ich frage mich, wie die Amerikaner durch die Corona-Pandemie gekommen sind. Ohne, dass es überhaupt irgendwelche Hygienevorschriften gab?

Ich dachte, ich erzähle mal von den Eindrücken, die ich wohl oder übel mitbekommen habe.

Wenn ihr das nächste Mal auf die Toilette geht, könnt ihr an mich denken und euch freuen, dass es so sauber hinterlassen wurde von der Person davor :).

American hygiene

What can I say? Since I've been here in America, I've noticed a lot of things especially about the people who live here.

Besides the non-existent climate change, the false self-esteem or the bad food, there is one thing I wanted to tell you about. And that is hygiene.

I've been living in America for a few months now, and every day it surprises me anew. The hygiene in America is really unbelievably bad.

How can I best describe it?

I don't know if we in Germany are just different or especially hygienic, but I think my behavior, which is described as especially hygienic here, is normal.

Starting with a normal trip to the toilet. I can only talk about the boys, but most Americans don't think it's necessary to flush after using the toilet. It doesn't matter what's left behind... That's all I'm saying.

I just wonder why? Do they really not care that much? In any case, I can say that it's not due to a conscious approach to the environment.

What do you do after you go to the toilet without flushing? Of course they go around the sink and don't use it. Again, I question the conscious use of nature to save soap and water.

So we don't flush and we don't wash our hands.

Another example, I'll spare you the rest. Not that my blog will be blocked :).

Showering without flip-flops? No problem for me when I share the shower with my family at home. But in public showers that are used by a super large number of people? A nightmare for me. I think I'd rather shower with shoes on than voluntarily walk around barefoot.

It disgusts me.

Am I that sensitive or do you see it the same way? I am always amazed at the behavior of many Americans. I've come to the conclusion that it has to do with upbringing, right? I can't think of any other reason. I wonder how the Americans survived the corona pandemic in the first place. Without any hygiene regulations at all?

I thought I'd tell you about the impressions I got, for better or worse.

The next time you go to the toilet, you can think of me and be happy that the person in front of you left it so clean :).
